Visit Seoul! (Victoria Yujin Oh)


Seoul is the capital of Republic of Korea. Situated on the Han River, Seoul's history streches back more than 2,000 years when it was founded in 18 BCE by Baekje, one of the Three Kingdoms of Korea. It continued as the capital of Korea under the Joseon Dynasty.

1. Blue House



The Blue House is the executive office and offcial residence of the South Korean head of state, the President of the Republic of Korea and located in the capital of Seoul. The Blue House is in fact a complex of buildings, built largely in the traditional Korean architectural style with some modern elements. Built upon the site of the royal garden of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897), the Blue House now consists of the Main Office Hall, the Presidntial Residence, the State Reception House, the Chunchugwan Press Hall, and the Secretariat Buildings.


2. Gyeongbokgung


  
Gyeongbokgung Palace is a royal palace located in northern Seoul, South Korea. First constructed in 1395, later burned and abandoned for almost three centuries, and then reconstructed in 1867, it was the main and largest palace of the Five Grand Palaces built by the Joseon Dynasty. In side of Gyeongbokgung, there are a lot of different beautiful palace such as Gyeonghoeru, Hyanwonjeong, Jibokjae and etc...

In addition, you can see the royal changing of the guard ceremony is held in front of the main gate every hour from 10:00 to 15:00.
3. Han River

The Han River is a major river in South Korea. The Han River and its surrounding area have played an important role in Korean history. Resulting from an economic boom called the Miracle on the Han River which transformed it from the ashes of the Korean War to the world's 4th largest metropolitan economy.


Nearby Han River, there is a place which is called Yeouido (Yoi Island or Yeoui Island) is a large island in the Han River in Seoul, South Korea. Also, you can find the 63 Building in there.
Also, every April, Cherry Bloossom Festival is held at street of Yeouido. Also, October. Sat. Seoul International Fireworks Festival is held at Han River Park.

4. N Seoul Tower

The N Seoul Tower is a communication and observation tower located on Namsan Mountain in central Seoul, South Korea. It marks the highest point in Seoul. It built in 1969, and it was opened to the public in 1980. Many visitors ride the Namsan cable car up the Mountain. Namsan to walk to the tower as well.
Also, the N Seoul Tower is famous for Teddy Bear Museum and Love padlock trees. This place is good for couples.
